If you are qualified for the first month, you are deemed to qualify for the second.

You need to reassess in the third month

There are 2 criteria in this wage subsidy

Note: you cannot switch to another in the next month after selecting one criteria

  1. (Sales in Jan 2020 + Feb 2020)/2 * 0.85 VS sales in March

(Sales in Jan 2020 + Feb 2020)/2 * 0.7 VS sales in April VS sales in May

If sales in March, April and May are lesser, then you are qualified

2. Compare sales made in March 2020 with sales made in March 2019, if it drops by 15% then you are qualified

Compare sales made in April 2020 with sales made in April 2019, if it drops by 15% then you are qualified

Compare sales made in May 2020 with sales made in May 2019, if it drops by 15% then you are qualified

If you are qualified, then download a sheet from CRA website and apply

In the sheet, you should file in 1) name of employee and 2) clarify if the employee is at arm-length (meaning it’s your relative or family number) 3) the frequency of doing analysis – biweekly or weekly

Under tab 1, it shows your earnings and how much you are qualified
